
“ARTISANS: IBIRAMBYE Shop Officially Inaugurated to Empower Rural Women Through Cooperatives”

IBIRAMBYE shop has been officially launched 16h march 2026 in the District of Kamonyi, marking a major milestone in the promotion of rural women economic development in the District as well as the promotion of Made-in-Rwanda products.
The shop is officially launched by UGAMA,with ARDE/KUBAHO and MEDICUS MUNDI for the support of Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council ,aimed providing artisans and small-scale traders with a platform to display and sell their products, thus helping them reach a wider market and increase their earnings.

The event was attended by JADF leaders, development partners, and cooperatives, who commended the initiative as an important step towards solving the long-time problems faced in the region.
The shop is stocked with a variety of products ranging from handmade crafts, clothing, bags, shoes, and many more. This is aimed at increasing the value and visibility of local products in the market.
The cooperatives have also expressed optimism about the future, noting that this will help them increase production and earn higher revenues. This is aimed at helping them improve their living standards.
The participants at the function also noted that the shop will be very instrumental in the creation of jobs, especially for the youth and women in the rural areas who are in cooperatives, and will thus contribute to the development of the community at large.
The launch of the IBIRAMBYE shop is a move to enhance the development of the women in the rural areas who are in cooperatives, the local economy, and it is expected to greatly contribute to the development of the Kamonyi District and the country at large.
